The Magicians

The Magicians
After being recruited to a secretive academy, a group of students discover that the magic they read about as children is very real and more dangerous ant they ever imagined. But will getting hooked on the thrill of magic distract them from honing their powers when they need them most?

Season #1
♡♡ Episode #1: Unauthorized Magic – A smart, geeky and socially awkward young man is amazed to realize that Magic he’s so passionate about is actually real, when he’s unexpectedly brought to the admittance test and invited to attend a secret college of magic in New York. However, everything about the “new world” he’s discovering is overwhelming, and for no obvious reason he seems to have found himself in the midst of most serious troubles and dangerous adventures ahead. It’s obvious it’s not going to be an easy ride, and he’ll need to significantly transform his personality in order to survive it all. A seemingly depressed man is ready for graduate school, and things start to make sense to him when he is accepted into a college for future magicians. The world of fantasy that he has loved so much growing up becomes a reality. His best friend is not so lucky, and she gets involved with a not so prestigious group of magicians.

♡♡ Episode #3: Consequences of Advanced Spellcasting – Quentin and Julia have an unexpected – and volatile – reunion. Penny is overwhelmed by the power of his own psychic abilities and Alice is determined to find out what happened to her missing brother – at any cost.
♡♡ Episode #4: The World in the Walls – Quentin wakes up in a mental hospital and must set his panic aside to seek the help of the one person he least trusts. Julia is hurt after her fallout with Quentin and commits to learning more powerful spells with the Hedge Witches.
♡♡ Episode #5: Mendings, Major and Minor – Although everyone should be training for the upcoming Welter’s Tournament, the students are dealing with a personal distraction that keeps them from staying focused.
♡♡ Episode #6: Impractical Applications – The First Years are thrust into the old Brakebill’s tradition of The Trials, a midterm-slash-hazing ritual in which failing means flunking out for good. Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, Julia meets a fellow blacklisted Hedge Witch.
♡♡ Episode #7: The Mayakovsky Circumstance – The students are taught by an overbearing teacher while back at Brakebills Elliott and Margon prepare for a debaucherous vacation. The First Years meet an uncompromising professor at Brakebills South who pushes their boundaries both in Magic and in their personal lives. After Julia loses everything, she must decide whether she’s ready to accept help… and what that means for her future as a Magician.
♡♡ Episode #8: The Strangled Heart – Brakebills is thrown into chaos when Penny is violently attacked by someone they thought was a friend while Quentin tries to find a connection to The Beast. After entering a rehab facility, Julia considers giving up Magic for good.
♡♡ Episode #9: The Writing Room – Quentin, Alice, Eliot and Penny travel to England to Plover’s Estate in search of a missing Magic button, but what they find is a hauntingly terrifying vision of the author’s true self. Julia, now out of rehab, searches for real meaning in her Magic, but it comes at a very high cost.
♡♡ Episode #10: Homecoming – As Quentin and Alice try to save him, Penny learns that the Neitherlands is not as friendly as he thought. Julia attempts to join the Free Traders, an eclectic group of Magicians. Penny travels to the world of The Neitherlands where he soon finds it’s not as friendly as he thought. Quentin and Alice must work together, no matter how uncomfortable, to save him. Julia joins an eclectic group of Magicians known as the Free Traders, but a surprising member stands in her way.
♡♡ Episode #11: Remedial Battle Magic – Prior to a showdown in Fillory, Quentin and crew get a crash course in Battle Magic.
